The term Halal is an Arabic word meaning permissible or lawful according to Islamic law (Shariah). It refers to products, services, and practices that are allowed for Muslims to use or consume.

The opposite of Halal is Haram, which means prohibited. For Muslims, consuming Halal products is not only a matter of preference but also a religious obligation. Halal awareness therefore plays a vital role in helping individuals and businesses understand and comply with these principles.
